The Saucon Valley Foundation is pleased to present our 2018-2019 Grant Awards:

  • Russell & Jost, “CRP & AED Training Equipment”- $2,300

With the acquisition of the CRP & AED equipment all 8th grade students, approximately 150-180 per year, will learn how to help others in an emergency and be certified as American Red Cross Lay-Responders.

  • Sams, “Speaker: Dr Javier Avila”- $1,000

The grant presented to Amber Sams on behalf of the Inclusion Committee, will fund a presentation to all of the High School students by Dr Javier Avila who uses humor, comedy and poetry to address prejudice and conflict.

  • Sakasitz,  “World Music-Nino Classroom Cajun”- $424

To be used in the Middle School Music Education classes, the Nino Classroom Cajun instrument provides students an opportunity to participate in the music classroom regardless of mental or physical limitations.

  • Heffelfinger, “Global Read Aloud”- $600

High School students in the 2018-2019 & 2019-2020 school years will participate in a six-week program which connects students globally thru Skype, email and other online tools in discussions of a chosen novel with students in other countries.

  • Jost, “Adventure/High Ropes”- $2,500

The funds of the grant, along with additional funds raised, will install the Climbing Wall in the middle school gym. Middle and High School students will experience a safe and challenging climbing opportunity, providing them a chance to learn knot tying, belaying and climbing techniques as well as communication and cooperation skills.
