The Saucon Valley Foundation For Educational Innovation (SVFEI) extends it gratitude to many local restaurants and businesses for their participation in and support of the Chili Cook Off and Silent Auction on Nov. 15 at Silver Creek Country Club.

This fall event was attended by more than 100 people and raised more than $9,000 through ticket sales and a silent auction for programs to benefit all grade levels of the Saucon Valley School District.

Chefs from eight local restaurants entered the competition. They are: Braveheart, Sagra Bistro, Ricardo’s Tavern House (two entries), St. James Gate, Copperhead Grille, Coopersburg Diner, Hellertown Diner and Silver Creek Country Club.

SVFEI would also like to thank the three ‘amateur’ chefs for the participation:Mark  Blaska, Janet Bracalente and Nina Bracalente..

Fresh Market and Giant made generous donations of bread. Jerry Myers provided a variety of desserts and Granny Schmidt’s Bake Shop offered cupcakes.

For the silent auction gift inventory, SVFEI acknowledges and thanks: Artisan Wine and Cheese/The Wooden Match, Boston Beer, Dolce, Fegley’s Brew Works, Joshua Tree, Healing Hands, Lenore Spohn, Kathy Muschlitz, Main Street Gym, Marriott, Pelican Pools, Rob Phillips, Redstone Landscaping, Repash Photography, Saucon Valley Sporting Goods, Salon and Beyond, Saucon Valley School District, Silver Creek Country Club, State Theater, Trendz Hair Salon and Yoga Mos.
